Workshops
Through PlanH, BC Healthy Communities Society offers facilitated processes and workshops for local governments and their partners (e.g. health authorities, community organizations, non-profit organizations) on a variety of topics.
Funding
The PlanH program provides funding to local governments to support learning about the community context for health and well-being, partnership development between sectors, collaborative priority setting for health and well-being in local planning and policy, and innovative action to influence local health outcomes.
Health Authority Support
Health authorities can support local governments by providing advice and expertise on health, acting as a resource for local government staff and elected officials to develop healthy public policy, providing community health profiles, and facilitating opportunities and partnerships to work together on joint healthy community actions. You might already have relationships with your health authority. If not, the contacts and links in this section are a good place to start.
Healthy Built Environment Curriculum
This open-source curriculum allows you to explore the links between built environments and health outcomes and apply your new knowledge to projects, plans and issues in your community.
