This workshop explores how public engagement is critical in achieving health and well-being outcomes in local policy and planning. It introduces tools, techniques and methods for meaningful engagement to build healthier communities. Through this workshop, participants will explore:
- The role of citizens in healthy community development, and local opportunities for citizen and public engagement on health & well-being goals
- Beyond social marketing: interconnections between behaviour change, social change and structural change for health outcomes
- Naming, framing and telling the story: helping citizens see their role in building healthy lives and places.
- Tools, techniques and methods for meaningful engagement and capacity building for healthier communities.
