The PIBC 2018 Annual Conference: The Game Plan! is generously presented by Young Anderson Barristers & Solicitors and will be headquartered at the Victoria Conference Centre in downtown Victoria. The PIBC 2018 Conference Committee has developed a rich, diverse and engaging program of keynote speakers, conference sessions, workshops, mobile workshops and more.
The conference program includes two exciting keynote speakers, more than forty diverse conference sessions & presentations, pre-conference workshops, mobile workshops & tours, great networking events, local social activities, and more! In addition to the great conference program, we will also be celebrating PIBC’s 60th Anniversary!
BC Healthy Communities staff will be there presenting on Friday – Session 40 – Information Overload! Rethinking Metrics for Planning Healthy Communities.
This session will provide an introduction to Healthy Communities approaches, a discussion about the types of questions we try to answer in our planning work, an overview of alternative metrics we could use to better inform our work and an opportunity to test these metrics with real-world planning challenges. Exploring diverse sources of information, and respecting different ways of knowing, are essential if we want to reconcile past harms and plan for a more sustainable future.
