All the Right Moves: Physical Activity Across the Life Span

Date/Time
Date(s) - December 4, 2018 - December 5, 2018
9:00 am - 9:45 am

Physical activity is important at every age because how we move affects our well-being in multiple ways. Please join BC Alliance for Healthy Living on Tuesday, December 4th from 9:00am-10:00am for an exciting webinar featuring Appetite to Play and Choose to Move, two programs you don’t want to miss.

Both of these innovative programs are supported through the Provincial Physical Activity Strategy, Active People, Active Places, which is designed to guide and stimulate co-ordinated policies, practices and programs in physical activity that will improve the health and well-being of British Columbians, and the communities in which they live, learn, work and play.

With 76% of Canadian preschoolers engaging in too much screen time and only 62% getting the recommended activity levels for their age group, learn how the evidence-based program Appetite to Play sets the stage for lifelong healthy behaviours in children ages 0-5.

Centenarians (those aged 100 or over) were the fastest growing age group in Canada between 2011-2016. Also according to the 2016 Census, right here in British Columbia we have the most municipalities with a high proportion of people aged 85 and older.  Find out how The Active Aging Research Team designed the innovative program Choose to Move and how it’s changing the physical activity landscape as our population ages.

Be inspired on Tuesday, December 4th as we talk about physical activity that prevents, protects and helps everyone reach their full potential.  Please join us for this free webinar!
