Under the current circumstances of COVID-19, there has never been a better time to support students to be active and connected in their school communities. Walking, cycling and scootering to school allows students to spend more time outside while staying connected with family and peers in a way that ensures safe physical distancing. By developing sustainable actions to encourage students to walk and cycle more often for their school journey, schools can support lasting changes in physical, mental and social well-being across the whole school community.
Tune in on Thursday, October 29th from 10:00–11:00am PST for an informational webinar about a new Active School Travel Pilot Program, delivered by BC Healthy Communities Society (BCHC).
During this event, BCHC will highlight why it is so important to engage in active school travel planning during this uniquely challenging time of COVID-19, describe how this Pilot opportunity can help your school make sustainable changes in support of getting more students using active modes of travel to school, provide details on what participation in the program entails, and give you all the information you need to submit a successful Expression of Interest for consideration as a Pilot school.
