Advancing Low Carbon Resilience – Join us for a national event on advancing low carbon resilience. The sixth annual Livable Cities Forum: Advancing Low Carbon Resilience is being hosted by the City of Victoria in partnership with ICLEI Canada, with support from the British Columbia Climate Action Secretariat, and guidance from contributing partner, ACT (Adaptation to Climate Change Team) at Simon Fraser University. The Forum is a boutique national event widely known for its high-caliber sessions and diverse speakers on climate change action in Canada.

Climate change is advancing at an alarming rate and now more than ever, it is important that communities synergize their climate change efforts, advancing resilience and transitioning to low carbon energy. Be a part of the conversation on how to build communities that are prepared for current and future impacts of climate change, while moving toward a more sustainable low carbon future. Highlights of the Forum will include: sustainable technology for advancing community energy efficiency, innovative community engagement around community resilience, and building livable, low-carbon communities that are prepared for the increasing impacts of climate change.

The Forum will be the ideal place for health authorities, provincial and federal government staff, planners, engineers, elected officials, local governments, NGOs, and sustainability professionals, and other stakeholders to:

  • Learn from Canadian and international speakers about innovative examples and proven good practices in responding to climate change.
  • Explore Victoria and the surrounding area through study tours and see how it has become a leading city in sustainable design and climate action.
  • Network with leaders and innovators who will share strategies, solutions, and lessons learned in advancing local-level low carbon resilience.

We hope you will join us at what is sure to be an exciting and inspiring event.
