Health Impact Assessment
This Health Impact Assessment Resource supports local and Indigenous government staff, as well as public health professionals, to implement a Healthy Communities approach to planning and evaluating local projects, policies and programs.
The resource explains what makes HIA a collaborative decision-making tool, and provides ideas, guidance and resources to support the inclusion of health and equity in policy and decision-making processes. It also highlights overlaps in the goals and objectives of public health, local and Indigenous government staff and planners, and supports the development of multi-sectoral partnerships. The principles and resources included inform the use of HIA in local contexts, and can guide the development of assessment, monitoring and evaluation strategies that consider health and equity.
