Cities Fit for Children Biennial Summit (2015-Current) (Project)

Cities Fit for Children is a biennial conference that brings together municipal leaders with child development professionals, and parents and community champions to promote and increase collaboration towards creating local environments where children, youth and their families thrive.

The mission of Cities Fit for Children is to provide a forum for the coming together of local governments, service providers and committed citizens to improve environments for children, youth and families. BC Healthy Communities Society supports the event host selection and provides outreach and planning supports.

Call for Proposals: 2019 Cities Fit for Children Conference

Building on the past five successful events held in Kelowna (2007), Langley (2009), Kamloops (2012), Surrey (2013) and Vernon (2014), this conference is an ideal opportunity for the host municipality to demonstrate their commitment to child development and to connect with other communities around child and youth-friendly planning, initiatives and policy.

We are now accepting applications from BC municipalities to host the 6th Cities Fit for Children conference, to be held in fall 2019.
