The Citizen Series Webinar is entering its 5th year of bringing important speakers and perspectives on topics that matter to northerners right into homes and offices across Northern BC and elsewhere. This year’s topics, as suggested and championed by our webinar participants, include resource development, Aboriginal health and wellness, aging in place and the legacy of the Canada Winter Games.
While generally very positive, evaluations of the Citizen Series Webinars also suggest to include insightful ideas to improve. Webinar participants requested to add more opportunities for communities to connect around the topics and discussions generated by the Citizen Series Webinar. The discussions that emerge in the chat box on the webinar also show communities reaching out to seek to one another. So – for the first time ever, in January 2015, we will host our first live Community Connector Chat following the Risky Business: Why Communities, Government and Industry Need To Work Together To Support a Healthier Approach to Resource Development webinar on resource industries and community in northern BC. Facilitated conversations in the Community Connector Chat will bring webinar speakers, Kandace Kerr and Anne Marie Sam, back on a teleconference line to explore questions and ideas from a community level perspective.
